From St Mary’s

This week, all our pupils took part in Anti-Bullying workshops, and our Year 5 and 6 pupils also took part in Disability Awareness workshops. The workshops were led by a company called Diversify Now, who worked with all year groups to promote social inclusion and develop an awareness of bullying and the impact it can have on others. The children now have an increased awareness of these topics, and a good understanding of the inclusion of all in society. A Year 5 pupil said ‘It was very informative, the use of videos helped me see what can happen to disabled people in society. It also reaffirmed to me that everyone is valued and needs to be valued’. Another Year 5 pupil said, ‘I found it very interesting as I have a disability, and it helped me feel supported for the future’.
